City grants developer stormwater variance

As construction of the Cresswind and Everton subdivisions in Peachtree City’s Wilksmoor Village continues, the City Council has granted a variance for the developer’s stormwater management plans. The council voted 5-0 on Dec. 1 to allow modifications to the weir at Wynn’s Pond, downstream from the new developments, which city staff said would result in “a more natural and cost-effective stormwater management system that better mimics the natural hydrologic conditions of the site.” City Engineer David Borkowski said the variance to the stormwater ordinance was supported by a study of water flow from the Wilksmoor area to Line Creek and Lake McIntosh.

Planning commission reviews city land lots

The Brookhaven Planning Commission will review a rezone request regarding two lots in the city during the meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brookhaven City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road. The request is for land referred to as Land Lots 152 and 157 in the 18 District, which is located south of Interstate 85, east of North Druid Hills Road and North of Briarcliff Road. The city is seeking to maintain DeKalb County approved and existing land uses and conditions for the land lots in question.
