Six Flags helps set a kissing record
Awww … just call them Kiss Flags Over Georgia.
Six Flags, in Cobb County, along with six other parks in the corporate chain, set a new Guinness World Record for couples kissing under the mistletoe.
The smoochy Saturday event drew 839 couples coast to coast. See the sweet video online at buzz. blog.ajc.com/2016/12/12/sixflags-kiss.
“For the second year in a row at our park, hundreds of guests were a part of this world record and created a lifelong memory by kissing their loved one under the mistletoe during Holiday in the Park, which is a tradition in Atlanta,” Six Flags Over Georgia Park President Dale Kaetzel said in a statement.
The results were verified by Guinness judge Christina Conlon.
“Six Flags really outdid itself this year by making history and celebrating the holidays by bringing people together from coast to coast to set a new world record for the most couples kissing under the mistletoe,” she said in a statement.
While you might think of theme parks as a summertime outing, Six Flags has wintertime fun for you as well. Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Georgia features more than 1 million LED lights in 15 holiday-themed areas, 29 rides including nine roller coasters, shows, food and more.
Holiday in the Park runs on select days through Jan. 4. See details at their website, sixflags.com/overgeorgia.
