County Commission elects 2017 officers
The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners has set its leadership structure for 2017, elevating an incumbent to the top job.
District 3 commissioner and small business owner Todd Levent was elected as chairman. Levent is in the midst of his second term, having been initially chosen by the voters in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. District 2 commissioner and education, training and consulting firm for investment companiesowner Rick Swope will serve as vice chairman for the next year. Kennesaw adopts rental rates for amphitheater
The Kennesaw City Council voted 5-0 last week to approve a policy on use of the Depot Tunnel Amphitheater, including rental rates.
These rates will be $50 for the security deposit, $30 per hour for a Kennesaw resident with a twohour minimum and $50 per hour for nonresidents, also with a twohour minimum.
For special events that are open to the public, a $50 application fee will apply in addition to rental fees for the outdoor classroom space.
Special event requests must be made 90 days in advance through the city’s Events Committee.
Accommodating up to 60 people, the amphitheater may be reserved 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Sunday.
Prohibited are alcoholic beverages, glass containers, the use of tobacco/e-cigarette products, amplified sound, commercial use and special entertainment or equipment such as moonwalks, dunk tanks or inflatables.
No sales may take place without advance approval of the Parks and Recreation director.
Also, no decorations or temporary fixtures may be affixed to any railings, light fixtures, walls or kiosks with tape, nails, tacks, staples or any application that will cause irreversible damage.
