The season schedule is released for Atlanta United, the city’s fledgling MLS team. The team will play 17 home games and 17 away, starting March 5 and ending Oct. 22.

Atlanta United’s schedule for its inaugural MLS season was released by the league office Thursday.

The team will play 17 home games and 17 away, starting March 5 and ending Oct. 22. Fifteen games will be televised nationally. More games times and broadcast partners will be released later.

Atlanta United has signed 21 players and will have two selections in today’s SuperDraft, which will be held in Los Angeles.

The team is coached by Gerardo Martino, formerly manager of Barcelona and Argentina’s national team, and will play at Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium before moving into Mercedes-Benz Stadium in late July. Atlanta United will train at its complex in Marietta.

First home game. The team will have two openers, one at Bobby Dodd Stadium on March 5 against New York Red Bulls and the other at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on July 30 against Orlando City. Both dates were previously announced.

Worst road trip. The first road game will be at fellow expansion side Minnesota on March 12. That also was previously announced. A brutal road stretch starting March 31 includes games against four playoff teams, including MLS Cup finalists Seattle on March 31 and Toronto on April 8. The other games are at Montreal on April 15 and at Real Salt Lake on April 22.

Biggest home stretch. The longest stretch at Mercedes-Benz Stadium includes five consecutive games, starting against FC Dallas on Sept. 9 and concluding with Philadelphia on Sept. 27. Dallas should feature Lawrenceville’s Walker Zimmerman. Other games include New England on Sept. 13, Orlando City on Sept. 16, Montreal on Sept. 23 and the Union on Sept. 27.

Disney duet. Atlanta United will play back-to-back games against Orlando, the team’s presumed rival, on July 21 in Florida and on July 30 in the Mercedes-Benz opener. They will also host Orlando on Sept. 16.

The BIG home games. Atlanta United will host NYCFC on May 28, L.A. Galaxy on Aug. 19 and Toronto on Oct. 22.
