Stansbury picks ex-Tech teammate to widen donor base, boost revenue

Georgia Tech athletic director Todd Stansbury has brought a former Yellow Jackets teammate and colleague to the athletic department, former Tech football player Jeff Keisler. As associate athletic director for annual giving and engagement in the Alexander-Tharpe Fund, Keisler will be responsible for expanding the athletic association’s donor base and developing ideas and procedures to create new revenue sources.

Keisler worked with Stansbury at Central Florida and then at Oregon State, where Stansbury served as athletic director before his hire at Tech in September of last year.

Keisler worked in sales at ski resorts in Virginia and Utah before Stansbury hired him to join his staff at UCF in 2013. There, he helped grow the donor base by 22 percent and annual fund revenue by 17 percent, according to a Tech news release. At Oregon State, as associate AD for sales and ticket services, his team increased football revenue by 25.6 percent in 2016 despite the fact that the Beavers were 2-10 in 2015. Among his projects was a secondary-ticket-market model that brought the department $632,000 in revenue.

Keisler played wide receiver for Tech and earned four letters from 1980-83, graduating with a degree in business management in 1992.
