City earns superior bond rating

The city of East Point has received a bond rating of “A” by the bond credit rating agency Standard and Poor’s. An “A” rating signals the strength of the city’s economy and capacity to meet its financial commitment­s. This rating is the first “A” given to East Point.

City to consider new liquor store

The Doraville City Council will hold a public hearing 6:30 p.m. Monday at Doraville City Hall, 3725 Park Ave. The hearing is for two conditiona­l use permits and an ordinance variance.

Seung Kim for Internatio­nal Beverage is seeking a conditiona­l use permit to operate a liquor store at 5224 Buford Highway.

Stephen Macauley for Nexus Developmen­t is requesting a variance to reduce stream buffer setback requiremen­ts at 5597 Buford Highway.

Michael Uriaga for Next Door Relocators LLC wants a conditiona­l use permit to operate a moving and storage company at 3613 and 3615 Clearview Place. The applicant also seeks a variance to remove the fencing requiremen­t for the business.
