Fayette approves fountain funds
The Heritage Park Fountain at the Fayette County Administrative Complex will be flowing and glowing following repairs approved by the Board of Commissioners Thursday night.
The board voted 5-0 to allocate up to $65,000 of already budgeted funds to fix and enhance the existing granite structure with cast stone and color-changing LED lights. The fountain has already gotten a new pump. City staff will consider adding ridges across the top edge to discourage skateboarders, and will shorten the overhang to minimize breakage. The brick pavers at the base will be reset and leveled to reduce tripping hazards.
Commissioners approve SPLOST fund transfer
The Clayton County board of commissioners recently approved a budget amendment item to transfer funds from the 2015 SPLOST fund to procure server, networking hardware and server licensing necessary to support the Criminal Justice Information Network and the Enterprise Resource Planning projects, in the amount of $1,983,161.
Commissioners also approved the probate court’s request for an additional paralegal at a salary of $46,001.19.
In a 3 to 2 vote, a budget amendment item to fund the salary of the deputy chief operating officer for the remainder of the fiscal year in the amount of $43,827 passed. Chairman Jeff Turner and commissioner Franklin Warner opposed.
