Election for vacant Council seat set

Johns Creek has called a special election for April 18, with three days for qualifying next week, to fill the City Council seat for Post 4.

The seat was vacated in February when Council Member Bob Gray resigned to run for Congress. Gray’s term runs through Dec. 31, 2019.

City to hold public review on federal funding

Marietta city officials will hold a public review meeting 10:30 a.m. March 14 at 268 Lawrence St., Suite 200, Marietta on federal funding. Residents can comment on the reallocati­on of Community Developmen­t Block Grant funds for last year and this year from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Developmen­t.

Funding received through this program is used for activities that serve the needs of low- and moderate-income residents of Marietta.

The public comment period ends March 16.
