The Raiders are strongly considering luring retired star running back Marshawn Lynch out of retirement and back home to Oakland, ESPN reported Friday. Lynch, who is still under contract with the Seahawks, is said to be trying to decide if he wants to come back to the NFL.

Lynch retired after the 2015 season with 9,112 yards in 10 NFL seasons, but there is a chance “Beast Mode” could fill the gap in the Raiders’ running attack left by Latavius Murray’s free-agent departure to Minnesota.

Lynch played at Oakland Tech High and Cal and has indicated in the past he’d love to play for his hometown Raiders. While Lynch is retired, his rights are still owned by the Seahawks, who would have to agree to trade or release him.

Giants: Convinced Jason Pierre-Paul is fully back from a fireworks accident that severely damaged his right hand, New York signed its star defensive end to a fouryear contract worth about $68 million. The team gave Pierre-Paul the franchise tag last month for the second time in three years.

Meantime, the Giants agreed to terms with former Jets quarterback Geno Smith, pending a physical, multiple reports said. The 26-year-old Smith was a second-round pick in 2013, but his stint with the Jets was marred by injuries and inconsistency. He is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in his only start last season.

Jets: Josh McCown might be the answer — in the short term, at least — for the quarterback-needy Jets. The free agent QB is meeting with New York this weekend, multiple reports said.

Rams: Signed linebacker Connor Barwin, one week after he was released by the Eagles. Barwin spent his first four seasons with the Texans, where he played under new L.A. defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.

Seahawks: Agreed to deals to bring back tight end Luke Willson and cornerback DeShawn Shead.

Bradley Beal scored 24 points, John Wall dished out a career-high 20 assists to go with 14 points, and Washington held on to defeat Chicago. Jimmy Butler had 28 points and Robin Lopez added a seasonhigh 25 points and 12 rebounds for the Bulls.

Justin Anderson tied his career high with 19 points and Robert Covington scored 12 of his 18 points in Philadelphia’s dominant third quarter, helping the 76ers rout Dallas.

Jae Crowder scored nine of his 24 points late in the fourth quarter, Avery Bradley had 16 overall, and Boston edged Brooklyn. Al Horford added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Celtics, who were playing without All-Star Isaiah Thomas, who bruised his right knee in Wednesday night’s win over the Timberwolves.

Serge Ibaka had 17 points and eight rebounds and Toronto used a fourth-quarter surge to beat Detroit. Toronto outscored Detroit 27-9 in the final period to take control of a game that appeared to be slipping away. The Pistons missed their final 10 shots of the game.

Solomon Hill scored a career-high 30 points and New Orleans overcame the absence of All-Star DeMarcus Cousins in an upset of Houston. Anthony Davis had 24 points and 15 rebounds for New Orleans, which has won three of four. Cousins was sidelined by left knee and rib soreness. New Orleans is now 2-0 without Cousins and 3-7 when he’s played since trading for him.

Hassan Whiteside scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, Tyler Johnson scored 23 off the bench and Miami downed Minnesota. Miami lost Dion Waiters to an ankle injury in the second quarter but moved to 23-5 in its last 28 games. Late
