Q: Regarding the Medical Arts Building, what are the plans for it next now that it has reached historical status? —Ramona Musselwhite, Cumming

A: It will be developed, but there are no details yet about the plans, said Regina M. Baker, associate vice president of marketing for Global X Tax Asset Solutions, which is based in Ohio.

Global X recently purchased the 12-story office building at 384 Peachtree St., north of downtown Atlanta’s Five Points district. The Medical Arts Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in December 2016.

The building, developed by doctors Cliff Sauls, Grady E. Clay, James E. Paulin and Malvern D. Huff for $1 million, was completed in 1927, the National Register nomination form states. It’s known for its neoclassical elements, such as a decorative cornice and pilasters.

It also was one of the city’s first buildings with a covered parking garage, completed in 1954, according to the National Register nomination form.
