Fayette seeking volunteers
Peachtree City’s Lake McIntosh reservoir will be the site of Fayette County’s next aquatic cleanup project. The county is seeking volunteers with kayaks or canoes to join its Water Guardians program to pick up trash in and around the lake. Volunteers will be provided with trash grabbers, bags and bottled water, and must complete a liability waiver. Those who register by today will receive a free T-shirt. Help with vision and hearing services
Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation is the only statewide provider of vision and hearing services. The organization needs volunteers to meet the demand for eyeglass requests for mission trips. Plant sale in Cumming

U.S. awards $81K grant for Dobbins study plan
The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded an $81,000 grant for the Joint Land Use Study implementation at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta.
The grant requires a 10 percent local match, resulting in Cobb County’s contribution of $9,000, according to a county statement.
Matrix Design Group has been awarded the contract to perform the work associated with this grant.
The study’s goals are to reduce potential conflicts between Dobbins and surrounding areas while accommodating new growth and economic development, sustaining economic vitality and protecting the public’s health and safety without compromising the operational missions of Dobbins.
