City needs help naming community room

Lilburn officials are seeking help coming up with a memorable name for the community meeting room at the new Lilburn City Hall-Library, 340 Main St.

Suggestions include the ‘McDaniel Meeting Room’ since McDaniel was the name of the Lilburn area before it was incorporated. ‘McEachern Meeting Room’ has been suggested to honor librarian Mary McEachern who lived in a house across the street from First Baptist Church near the roundabout.

Unveiling and dedication ceremony for The Dream Keepers 9/11 Memorial and the dedication of the “Handprints of Freedom” glass flag created by Kathy Fincher from Duluth and sculptor Martin Dawe. 6 p.m. children and families are invited to gather in patriotic dress at Dreamland Bar-B-Que, 3540 W.
