3 teens in fatal crash didn’t wear seat belts

Survivor wakes from coma, speaks with family.

New details about a crash Monday in south Fulton County that killed four teenagers and injured a fifth show that three of the boys who died were not wearing seat belts.

Cameron Jones, 16, who was the driver, and passengers Isaiah Gregory, 15, Octavious Rhodes, 16, and Ke’Ariy Lopez, 14, were killed when their Lincoln Navigator ran a red light and collided with a tractor-trailer, police said.

Lopez was the only one wearing a seat belt at the time, according to a crash report.

Crash survivor Lexus Todd, 16, recently woke up from a coma and is speaking with family members, Channel 2 Action News reported Thursday. She was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with crushed legs and bleeding in the brain, the news station reported. Todd was seated in the back seat of the SUV. Police do not expect to file charges in the crash.
