Baby among three fatalities in Hall County crash
Mother, front-seat passenger also die; other driver injured.
Three people, including a young mother and her baby, were killed Tuesday in a two-car crash in Hall County, the Georgia State Patrol confirmed.
About 3:30 p.m., Hannah Simmons was driving a white Subaru Legacy west on Ga. 347 when she lost control of the steering wheel, hit a curb and went counterclockwise across the center median, GSP officials said.
She went into the path of a white Ford F-350 driven by Dana Collins.
The truck hit the car on the right passenger side, according to the GSP.
Simmons, 23, of Gainesville was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, where she later died.
Simmons’ daughter, A’lannah Hopkin, and the frontseat passenger in Simmons’ car died at the scene, GSP spokeswoman Tracey Watson said.
The front-seat passenger was identified as Lauren Buteau, 28, of Gainesville.
A’lannah was in a car seat at the time of the crash, the GSP said.
Collins, 61, of Lilburn was injured but not taken to the hospital.
