Q: I would like to see the background of Jon Ossoff published. Where was he born, what is his education and has he always lived in Georgia? —Ullainee Stokes, Doraville

A: Ossoff was born in Atlanta’s Piedmont Hospital and grew up in the Northlake area, which is in the 6th Congressional District, according to his website, ElectJon.com.

Ossoff gained an interest in politics after reading U.S. Rep. John Lewis’ autobiography while he was in high school at the Paideia School, a private school in Atlanta, the AJC previously reported. Ossoff was a summer intern at Lewis’ Washington D.C. office.

Ossoff earned a bachelor’s degree in foreign service in 2009 from Georgetown University, according to Ossoff ’s LinkedIn page. After working for U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson, Ossoff ’s LinkedIn page says he earned a master’s degree in international political economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2013.
