Woods moved to South Florida in 2011
Tiger Woods moved to South Florida in 2011 after buying an expensive piece of real estate on Jupiter Island, just north of the Palm Beach-Martin county line. The 12-acre property stretches from the Intracoastal Waterway to the Atlantic Ocean. Woods’ backyard hosts a practice facility, a putting green, a 100-foot lap pool, a 60-foot diving pool, a spa and tennis and basketball courts. Woods reportedly paid $40 million.
8-year-old son is playing golf
Woods’ 8-year-old son Charlie has been playing plenty of golf in the area. He recently tied for second at a junior golf tournament at Mayacoo Lakes in West Palm Beach, finishing with a score of 19-over par.
Why Tiger loves Florida’s Treasure Coast
In a recent video, Woods explained why he loves living on the Treasure Coast. “It’s been great to move down here, to live here and call this home. … The family orientation of this area, the relaxed nature of it and the people are so nice.” He adds that he loves the proximity to the ocean. “I love to dive. I love to fish. You can surf a little bit. Go scuba diving, spear fishing and play golf.”
Ex-wife Nordegren still lives close by him
Tiger’s ex-wife Elin Nordegren lives close by in a custom-built mansion in Juno Beach, Florida. The private community called Seminole Landing is right on the Atlantic Ocean. Both the American and the Swedish flags fly on the home.
Woods plays golf with presidents
Tiger played 18 holes with President Donald Trump in December at Trump International Golf Club near West Palm Beach. Woods also has played with President Barack Obama and former Presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush.
