A 16-year-old boy who was killed Monday night in a drive-by shooting has been identified as a Towers High School student.

The teen, identified by the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office as Chris Moore, was one of three people who were shot in the incident in the 3800 block of Redan Road.

According to a police report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, officers responded to the scene about 9:30 p.m. and followed a bloody trail to the kitchen of home.

There, police said, they found a 20-year-old man who had been shot in the right foot and left arm who was holding a shirt over a wound on Moore’s neck.

Moore was conscious but could not hold a conversation, according to the report.

He was then taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

As officers checked the rear of the home Monday night, a third victim arrived on the scene with minor injuries, DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said. The victim, described by Campbell as a 28-year-old man, left after the shooting. He was treated on the scene.

The victims told police that they were in the front of the house when someone started shooting from the street. Moore and the 20-year-old crawled to the kitchen.

Witnesses told officers a vehicle was seen speeding away from Redan Road toward Holcombe Road, but they could not provide a description of the vehicle, police said.

The 20-year-old was taken to the hospital in stable condition, Campbell said.
