City revises city code to define special events

-

In something of a technicality, and to make the process more efficient and well-defined, the Peachtree Corners City Council voted recently to delete the category ‘Temporary Outdoor Activity’ for businesses in the city code and to replace it with ‘Special Events.’ The broader term allows for applications, guidelines, fees, and permitting of vendors, film production, and a wide variety of special events organized for-profit or nonprofit activity for entertainment, recreation or education.

Examples of special events include fairs, tours, grand opening celebrations, races, parades, marches, rallies, assemblies, festivals, film production, concerts, holiday celebrations, bicycle runs, and block parties.

Private social gatherings which will make no use of city streets other than for lawful parking are not included. Garage sales, lawn sales, rummage sales, flea market sales, or any similar casual sale of tangible personal property are not included. enforce local and state laws.

The goal of the YPA is to create and develop a relationship with students and give them the opportunity to learn about the Duluth Police Department’s role in the community and the delivery of services it provides.
