Take to task

What’s not working around metro Atlanta

- JOHN THOMPSON FOR THE AJC

Fixed! — DeKalb County

In late May, we told you about a reader’s concern on Clifton Drive.

“There is a deep ‘ravine’ on Clifton Road across from the entrance to the Druid Hills Golf Club turf care building. The ravine runs across half of the street from the manhole cover to the sidewalk. Drivers that are familiar with this either come to a complete stop, or cross to oncoming traffic lane to avoid it,” he wrote.

We heard from DeKalb officials that the issue has been fixed. Days on list: 23

Update — DeKalb County

Earlier in June, we told you about Deloyd Johnson’s issue.

“I live at 1723 Council Bluff Drive and across from my driveway is the entrance to Princess Street, which over the past 10 years has continued to have broken up asphalt as the result of many poor patch jobs,” Johnson wrote. He said the county promised to repair the road within 60 days, which did not happen.

“We, the neighbors in Sagamore Hills, could use your help in bringing attention to this very serious road hazard. It is unsafe and clearly being ignored by the county,” he added.

We heard back from DeKalb officials, who said the location is on the list for repairs, and a crew should be in the area within the next 30 days, weather permitting. Days on list: 9

New item — Cobb County

Yvonne Fournier says a curb is in dire need of getting repaired.

“Could someone look into this badly damaged corner curb? This has been like this for years and no one has repaired/fixed it. This very busy sidewalk is used by children walking to Dodgen Middle School and Walton High School as well as dog walkers, runners, etc.,” she wrote.

She said the curb is at Sewell Mill Road and Ardsley Drive NE in Marietta.

We sent the issue to Cobb County officials and will keep you updated.

Days on list: 6
