Q: What are the population demographics for the 6th District of Georgia, where we had the runoff ?

—John Glover, McDonough A: Data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2015 American Community Survey shows that Georgia’s 6th Congressional District has a total population of 729,643 people, 74 percent of whom are of voting age.

Nearly 80 percent of the district residents are U.S. natives, of whom about 41 percent were born in Georgia. Twenty-one percent of the district population is foreign born, according to the 2015 Census figures.

Those Census figures from 2015 show unemployment in the district around 5.2 percent, and a median household income of $83,844. The median value of owner-occupied housing units is $339,200.

About 60 percent of voters in the 6th District are college graduates, compared with 29 percent of voters statewide, the AJC previously reported.
