Buyer’s Edge Where can I find it?

- By Sabine Morrow For the AJC

I found Dow Ziploc vegetable bags at a small discount grocery store and I love them. They work better than anything I have ever used. I cannot find them. I spoke with a rep and was told these have not been in stores for over two years. They came as 20 vented, quart-size bags. I went online and could not find anything that I thought was comparable. I would love to find a replacement for these bags as I am almost out. They keep fruit, peppers, etc., fresh longer than I anything else I have found. Any assistance you can give me would be very much appreciated. Thank you, and I look forward to your column each week. Willene Wheeler, Loganville Willene, I found substitute bags for you that have been around a while, and are easy to find whenever you’re in need. Check out Bed Bath and Beyond, 1905 Scenic Highway, Snellvile, 770-982-6263. Here you’ll find Debbie Meyer Green Bags touted to keep produce fresh for approximately 30 days while reducing vitamin loss by 50 percent. Made in the U.S., the bags are BPA free, and each one can be used eight to 10 times. For $9.99, you get a variety pack of 20 bags that include eight medium bags, eight large bags and four extra large. I love the meat at the South American steak houses. It’s simply prepared but seems to be loaded with flavor without the addition of condiments. I was told that the secret to the meat is a barbecue salt, and that I should look for Celusal brand. Can you help me find this in the metro Atlanta area, please? Thanks so much. Bob Banks, email.

Celusal iodized barbecue salt from Argentina is a mediumgrain salt that is the key to flavorful grilled meats without a lot of fuss. You can find 35-ounce containers of Celusal for $4.59 at Buford Highway Farmers Market, 5600 Buford Highway, Atlanta, 770-455-0770. I used to have no problem finding Old Bay cocktail sauce. I can find the seasoning, but not the sauce. If you could find it for me near Decatur, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you. Carol Jackson, email

Old Bay cocktail sauce is available in 8-ounce jars for $1.68 at Walmart, 2525 N Decatur Road, Decatur, 404-464-4480. Ingredients in the cocktail sauce include tomato paste, high fructose corn syrup, vinegar and horseradish. Sometime back, I read a list of the best dandruff shampoos, some I was familiar with, but others I had never heard of. One of those was Matrix Biolage Scalpsync, which was new to me. I’m interested in trying it out. Can you find this? Thanks. S. Mayer, Marietta

Matrix Biolage Scalpsync antidandruff shampoo is formulated to control the appearance of visible flakes while relieving scalp irritation. The shampoo contains sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, dimethicone and peppermint leaf extract. You’ll find 33.8ounce bottles for $14.99 at Ulta, 1311 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, 770-578-3352. Having trouble finding a particular item? We’ll try to help you locate it.
