Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is inviting companies to submit proposals for more than 80 new retail shops around the domestic terminal and concourses.

The Atlanta airport is seeking proposals for contracts for ten different packages of retail concessions locations.

The airport plans to hold a pre-proposal conference for interested companies on Aug. 3 at noon at the Georgia International Convention Center, followed by a site tour.

The current due date for proposals is Sept. 6 at 2 p.m.

The number of retail shop locations varies depending on the contract, from two locations to 22 locations in a single contract. The contracts are for seven years with a potential three-year renewal.

The contracts include a “preferred concept” for each shop location, ranging from news and souvenirs to tech retail, specialty retail, beauty products, accessories, apparel, sunglasses, children’s toys, travel accessories, candy/confection/snacks, pet accessories and local/Georgia sense of place. One of the contracts is for retail vending machines on Concourses A and D.

Last year, airport shops, restaurants, rental cars, advertising, banking, luggage carts and other services generated a total of $1 billion in sales last year, according to airport officials.

Prices at airport shops are not permitted to be more than 10 percent above the average price of similar locations.

The airport requires shops to be open 365 days a year, from 30 minutes before the first flight on the concourse until 30 minutes after the final departure at a minimum, unless otherwise specified.
