General Motors honors SouthTowne Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac for 25 years of service

-

General Motors Company (GM) has recognized SouthTowne Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac for 25 consecutive years of service in the South-Metro Atlanta region. SouthTowne employees and GM representatives marked the milestone recently in July, with Chevrolet Zone Manager Kyle Coop presenting three commemorative plaques to SouthTowne General Manager, Steve Mader.

“You know, there really is no better place to run a business than right here in Newnan,” Mader said. “I’m really proud to have called this place home for 25 years. I’d like to personally thank my business partners, Harry Maziar, Hal Philipson and Eddie Birnbrey. From the very beginning, we set out to fulfill a dream we all envisioned—a business that could innovate, inspire, and redefine what it means to be a successful automotive dealership. Harry, Hal, and Eddie made that dream come to life. This dealership wouldn’t be where it is today without their dedication and support.”

Since opening in 1992, SouthTowne has grown to become one of the largest and most successful automotive dealerships in northern Georgia, with over 200 employees. To-date, SouthTowne has sold 76,514 vehicles in 25 years.

“To stay ahead in this business, you can’t always count on luck,” Mader said. “You’ve really got to work with your team, coaching them to go the extra mile to make sure every customer is happy. We really owe a lot to our employees. From our office staff to parts, service, and sales, everyone has really worked hard behind the scenes to make this dealership one of the best in the country.”

In addition to SouthTowne’s consistent business success through the years, the dealership places a lot of emphasis on community involvement by regularly sponsoring local civic groups, educational clubs, and community sports teams. Most recently, SouthTowne partnered with GM to provide equipment and resources for Sharpsburg Youth Baseball, a nonprofit organization teaching boys and girls the fundamentals of the game. Mader says investing time and resources into local organizations isn’t just good for business; it’s something everyone at the dealership stands behind. “We love that we get to meet new people every day,” Mader said. “There is nothing we enjoy more than seeing smiles on people’s faces. Whether you’re buying your first car or your twentieth car from us, we’re proud to call you our friends and neighbors. Once you come to SouthTowne, you’ll keep coming back.”

Mader says he is confident that SouthTowne’s employees will continue to build on a reputation of excellence for many years to come.
