Cowboys’ Moore to sit 2 games

DE is third Dallas defensive lineman to be suspended.

-

A third Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman will miss the start of the season because of a suspension.

The NFL said Friday defensive end Damontre’ Moore was suspended without pay for the first two games of the regular season for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.

Defensive end David Irving and defensive tackle Randy Gregory already were suspended.

Moore was arrested for DWI while with the Seahawks in December, but that didn’t prevent the Cowboys from signing him in the offseason.

Titans: Two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jurrell Casey agreed to a four-year extension for a reported $60.4 million. Casey still had two seasons remaining on his current contract. Casey is the team’s first back-to-back Pro Bowl defensive player since Albert Haynesworth in 2007-08.

■ The Titans released offensive lineman Sebastian Tretola, just days after he was grazed by a bullet in the leg.

Broncos: Linebacker Shane Ray is out six to eight weeks with a torn ligament in his left wrist. A first-round draft pick in 2015, Ray got hurt Thursday but played through the injury and practiced again Friday with a brace. He fell on the braced wrist during one of the final drills of the day. He’ll have surgery today and coach Vance Joseph said he’s hoping Ray will return by the Sept. 24 game at Buffalo.

Vikings: Left tackle Riley Reiff has been missing from practice due to an undisclosed injury. Coach Mike Zimmer declined to divulge the injury, but he said he doesn’t believe it’s serious. Reiff signed a five-year contract worth $58.75 million with $26.3 million guaranteed in the offseason.

Jets: Rookie cornerback Jeremy Clark, a sixthround pick from Michigan, was placed on the active/ non-football injury list. He had knee surgery last fall.

49ers: Safety Jimmie Ward injured his hamstring in the conditioning test Thursday and was placed on the physically unable to perform list.

■ The 49ers signed No. 3 overall pick Solomon Thomas and have all 10 of their 2017 draft picks under contract.

Bears: Linebacker Pernell McPhee is out indefinitely after having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.

Raiders: There are reports that left tackle Donald Penn plans to hold out of camp. Penn, 34, is entering the final year of an $11.9 million, twoyear contract he signed last offseason. Penn is scheduled to earn $5.8 million in base salary this season with another $1.3 million in incentives and bonuses. Penn has started 156 consecutive regular-season games, the second-longest active streak among offensive linemen.

Falcons: Two-time Pro Bowl running Devonta Freeman reported on time for the start of training camp and said he has no intention of making his contract negotiations a distraction. “I won’t hold out,” he said. Freeman, in the last year of a rookie contract he signed as a fourth-round pick, will earn just under $1.8 million.

Browns: Running back Isaiah Crowell said his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has been in “heavy communication” with the team as he enters the final year of his contract. Crowell, who rushed for 952 yards last season, will make $2.75 million this season and can be a free agent if he doesn’t sign an extension.

Chiefs-Seahawks: Kansas City and Seattle swapped linebackers, with D.J. Alexander joining the Seahawks and Kevin Pierre-Louis being sent to the Chiefs.
