Kasey Kahne was busy celebrating his win in the Brickyard 400 and missed team owner Rick Hendrick say plans are not set for Kahne’s No. 5 car next season.

Kahne overcame scoring heat, painful muscle cramps and a grueling, crash-marred, six-hour marathon to win at Indy and break a 102-loss drought.

“We didn’t have the fastest car on Sunday, but we had a really good car and our strategy worked out perfect,” he said.

He has two career wins (2008, 2013) at Pocono Raceway and a third today at the Long Pond, Pa., track could make a decision for Hendrick that much tougher.

“I had a lot of fun and did some media stuff, TV and also radio and things, things that I hadn’t done a lot of lately,” he said of his win. “It was good to be part of all that again.” NASCAR Xfinity: Ryan Preece survived a greenwhite-checkered finish to win at Iowa Speedway in Newton for his first career victory. The 26-year-old, running the second of a two-race deal in the No. 20 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, held off Kyle Benjamin on three restarts in the final 17 laps. Preece started from the pole.

Benjamin was second, followed by Brian Scott, Brennan Poole and rookie Cole Custer. NASCAR Trucks: Christopher Bell grabbed a late lead and held on to win at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa. Bell passed John Hunter Nemechek and held off Ben Rhodes over the final two laps to win for the fourth time this season.

Rhodes was second, followed by Ryan Truex, Nemechek and Johnny Sauter.

IndyCar: Will Power won his fifth pole of the season and fellow Team Penske driver Josef Newgarden qualified second for today’s Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sport Car Course in Lexington. Power won the Fast 6 qualifier with a lap of 126.672 mph compared to 126.407 for Newgarden as Chevrolet took the top two spots.

Formula One: Ferrari got a huge boost as Sebastian Vettel took pole position for today’s Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest, while teammate Kimi Raikkonen was second. Vettel clocked a best lap of 1 minute, 16.276 seconds, while Raikkonen was .168 behind.
