Mike Tomlin’s strong first decade with the Pittsburgh Steelers has earned the coach the chance to work well into a second decade with the organization.

Tomlin and the team have agreed to an extension that will keep the 45-year-old in Pittsburgh through the 2020 season.

Tomlin is 103-57 in 10 years with the Steelers, who have captured one Super Bowl, been to another and earned five AFC North titles during his tenure. He is one of eight coaches to win 100 games in their first 10 seasons.

Steelers President Art Rooney said Tomlin “continues to prove he is one of the top head coaches in the National Football League.”

Pittsburgh went 11-5 in 2016 before falling to New

England in the AFC Championship game.

Dolphins: Knee surgery is an option for quarterback Ryan Tannehill, although it’s possible it can be avoided, coach Adam Gase said. But even then, Tannehill is expected to be sidelined at least six weeks.

Tannehill, who missed the final four games of last season with two sprained ligaments in his knee, reinjured it in practice Thursday. An MRI was inconclusive, and the Dolphins are consulting with several specialists.

Gase said he hasn’t decided whether to bring in another quarterback. Matt Moore went 2-2 as a starter replacing Tannehill last year and becomes the new No. 1 — for the moment.

Seahawks: Wide receiver Tyler Lockett returned to practice for the first time since December when he broke both bones in his lower right leg. Lockett was activated off the physically unable to perform list and did individual drills and fielded punts on special teams — where he was a Pro Bowl selection as a returner in 2015 as a rookie.

Meantime, defensive lineman Frank Clark and offensive tackle Germain Ifedi did not participate in practice a day after a brawl broke out that included Clark punching Ifedi in the face.

Bills: Cordy Glenn missed his second straight practice, but a source told The Associated Press the starting left tackle’s injured left foot is fine and he is expected to resume practicing next week.

Coach Sean McDermott said Glenn traveled to have his injury evaluated by foot specialist Robert Anderson in North Carolina on Thursday. Glenn has been a starter since his rookie season in 2012, and last year became one of the league’s top-paid tackles after signing a fiveyear, $65 million contract extension.

Giants: The left ankle that wide receiver Sterling Shepard rolled in practice earlier this week is on the mend. An MRI was negative and the final diagnosis was a bone bruise, Shepard said.

Jets: Signed free-agent defensive lineman Devon Still, whose daughter’s battle with cancer and subsequent remission made national headlines, and claimed wide receiver Bruce Ellington off waivers from the 49ers.

Chargers: Released safety Darrell Stuckey after a failed physical. The 30-year-old was entering his eighth season with the Chargers and was selected for the Pro Bowl as a special teamer in 2015.
