Input sought for transportation plan

-

The Clayton County Department of Transportation and Development is updating its Comprehensive Transportation Plan. The CTP Update will serve as a framework for how Clayton County will improve its transportation networks to serve current and future needs. The plan considers the complete transportation network in Clayton County: roadways and bridges, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, freight facilities and movement, and access to transit. It also considers impacts from the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

County officials have said they want to ensure that all segments of the county’s population are engaged. To obtain public input from all sectors of the population, an online survey is now available. The survey allows people who live and work in the county to provide feedback to the CTP Update and help set the vision for Clayton County.

The survey is accessible at: www.claytoncountyga.gov/departments/transportation-and-development/comprehensivetransportation-plan-(ctp).aspx.

Public meetings across the county will be scheduled for fall 2017 where attendees can help identify transportation needs, like intersections that need improvement, congested roadways, crash hotspots, sidewalk gaps and more.

An open house will be held in the spring where people can drop by and check out draft project recommendations. PAMELA MILLER FOR THE AJC
