Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Marqise Lee was carted off the field Sunday with a right leg injury, a potentially significant setback for a team already without rookie running back Leonard Fournette.

Lee fell to the ground during 7-on-7 drills and grabbed his leg. Lee’s lower leg was immobilized before he was taken off the field on a cart.

Coach Doug Marrone had no update after practice, saying “we’re really not going to get anything until the doctor sees him.”

The injury happened during Jacksonville’s first practice in its new indoor facility, just hours after the team shut down Fournette. The fourth overall pick in the NFL draft has a foot injury

that Marrone is calling a “nagging issue.”

“We’re just being real cautious with it,” Marrone said.

Fournette sat out practice Sunday and is unlikely to work against Tampa Bay in joint practices today and Tuesday.

Lee has 115 receptions for

1,464 yards and five touchdowns in four seasons.

Panthers: Quarterback Cam Newton threw passes during the team period for the first time in two weeks as the team wrapped up training camp.

Newton participated in red zone drills, but did not throw any long passes on Sunday while rehabbing from soreness in his right shoulder that stems from rotator cuff surgery in March.

It’s unclear if Newton will participate in this week’s scrimmages against the Titans or the team’s second preseason game at Tennessee on Saturday

Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes moved up to No. 2 on the depth chart. Mahomes, the club’s first-round pick, earned the overwhelming majority of second-string snaps at No. 2 quarterback ahead of Tyler Bray, who previously held the role throughout organized team activities and training camp.

Raiders: Running back Marshawn Lynch sat through the national anthem at Saturday night’s preseason game but coach Jack Del Rio dismissed it as Lynch simply being Lynch.

He said, ‘This is something I’ve done for 11 years. It’s not a form of anything other than me being myself,’” Del Rio said. “I said, ‘Just so you understand how I feel, I very strongly believe in standing for the national anthem, but I’m going to respect you as a man. You do your thing, OK?’ So that’s a non-issue for me.”

Bears: Claimed former Buccaneers kicker Roberto Aguayo on waivers and placed receiver Rueben Randle on injured reserve. Aguayo was a second-round pick in 2016. He was cut after missing an extra point in the preseason opener.

Bills: Receiver Jordan Matthews’ first practice with his new team ended with him sustaining a chest injury. Matthews finished the two-hour practice on Sunday before being escorted off the field by a trainer. The Bills were unable to provide an update on the nature or severity of the injury because Matthews was still being evaluated.

Dolphins: Running back Jay Ajayi joined team drills for the first time since he was sidelined by a concussion July 31.
