IRMA IN GEORGIA: WHERE TO FIND HELP

- Myajc.com/ newsapp.

EVACUATIONS

■ As the storm shifted further west over Saturday and Sunday, Gov. Nathan Deal altered the emergency declaration for Chatham County, lifting a mandatory evacuation order for part of the area. Initially, all areas east of Interstate 95, all of Chatham County and some areas west of I-95 that could be in the path of the potential storm surge were under mandatory evacuation orders.

■ Interstate 16 from Savannah to Dublin reopened at 4 p.m. Saturday to eastbound traffic. All lanes of the interstate had been in a contraflow pattern — allowing people to use all four highway lanes away from the coast.

■ With the storm shift and expected wind and storm surge, officials in Savannah were enforcing a curfew from 10 p.m. Sunday through 6 a.m. today. In Albany, residents were given a 5 p.m. deadline to evacuate or be sheltered.

EMERGENCY HELP

■ Deal expanded the state of emergency to all 159 counties in Georgia on Sunday afternoon. He also announced that all state government offices would be closed today and Tuesday. Many school systems announced closures as well.

■ Deal previously authorized up to 5,000 Georgia National Guard members to be on activeduty to help respond to the deadly storm.

PRICE GOUGING

■ State officials are monitoring fuel prices, the cost of hotel rooms, the cost of water as well as cleanup recovery efforts for any attempted price-gouging. If you suspect gouging is taking place, the state is asking residents to report it by calling 800-869-1123 or 404-651-8600 or go to consumer.ga.gov for more information.
