1. United looks to future after loss

Atlanta United finished the regular season with the second-highest goal total (70) and goal difference (30) in Major League Soccer. Coming within a free kick in overtime to advance in the playoffs in its debut season, United played an exciting style of soccer that helped the franchise set and break attendance records in the regular season and the playoffs. 2. New offering at Philips Arena

Along with a new general manager this season, the Atlanta Hawks are trying out some new concessions. Philips Arena will have one concession stand selling Aketta cricket products such as tacos for their home opener on Friday night. A set of three cricket tacos will sell for $12 and will have cajun-favored crickets over avocado, onion, cilantro and queso fresco.

3. Flacco injured on ‘dirty play’

The Baltimore Ravens are calling for a review of the rule book after watching quarterback Joe Flacco being helped off the field, bleeding and disoriented following a late hit. Flacco sustained a concussion in Thursday night’s 40-0 victory against Miami after he went into a slide designed to prevent the quarterback from being tackled. C6

4. Johnson takes lead in China

5. Fox moves to shorter ads

People tuning into Fox Sports to watch football on Thanksgiving Day may be distracted from their turkey-eating bliss by a new type of commercial: six-second messages from brands that take over most of the screen, relegating the broadcast of the game to a small square on the side. The ads, which Fox has been trying out during the Major League Baseball playoffs, are a spin on the six-second commercials that Fox Networks Group first tested in August. By appearing on the same screen as the game, and popping up between plays, the ads are meant to be less disruptive than traditional commercial breaks.
