Roswell Roots Festival. The city of Roswell is hosting this 17th annual festival throughout February in conjunction with Black History Month, relating to art, food, live music, storytelling, history, education and community engagement. Roswell Roots has grown into one of the largest, most comprehensive celebrations of Black history and culture in the Southeast and has been awarded the “Gold Award for Best Cultural Event” by the Southeast Festival and Events Association. Living history interpreter and openhearth cooking expert Clarissa Clifton will demonstrate making traditional Southern food in the cookhouse hearth. She will define and discuss “Southern Poverty Food,” its perception, the concept of Farm to Table and present-day Southern food

■ Olympic movie screening. 5-8 p.m. Saturday. $5 to $35. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 888 Zion Circle, Roswell. Hosted by Zion’s Boy Scout Troop 206 and St. James United Methodist Church’s Troop 2206 as their fundraiser, this screening of “Olympic Pride, American Prejudice” was written and directed by filmmaker Deborah Riley Draper. The 2016 film follows 18 African-American Olympians who won hearts and medals at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin — among them Jesse Owens. A Q & A follows. .
