Swiss rubber company picks Gwinnett for U.S. operations

Gezolan makes rubber granules commonly used in flooring and other projects.

A Swiss manufacturing company has chosen to expand its U.S. operations — and has chosen to do so in Gwinnett County, officials announced Tuesday.

Gezolan, which manufactures rubber granules commonly used in rubber flooring and other projects, will open a 60,000-squarefoot facility off Hamilton Mill Road in the city of Buford.

The facility will house the company’s U.S. manufacturing plant and operations.

Partnership Gwinnett, the county’s economic development arm, said Gezolan’s decision represents a $12 million investment.

The company also plans to increase its staff by the end of the year, officials said.

”Our decision to expand in Gwinnett was fueled by our need to meet the current growth rate of the company and US market, as well as the 15-year experience of one of our sister companies in Gwinnett,” Gezolan CEO Josep Roger said in a news release. “Their experience paired with the access to strong communication infrastructure and logistic resources, as well as human talent, made the decision process much easier.”

Gezolan’s sister company, Kraiburg TPE, also has a location in Buford.

”We are excited to welcome Gezolan to the city of Buford,” Buford City Manager Bryan Kerlin said. “We look forward to working with this industry leader and are confident they will find the support and resources they need in our community to remain competitive, not only in the U.S., but worldwide.”
