Olive Garden in Lithonia fails test

An chain restaurant that specializes in Italian food failed its most recent health inspection.

The Olive Garden in Lithonia received a score of 66/U on March 14.

It’s previous scores were 97/A on Aug. 22, 2017 and 72/C on July 25, 2017.

Among violations, the inspector observed:

An employee eating in food prep area.

An open pan of uncooked chicken stored on shelf above open pan of fries and open pan of uncooked chicken stored on the shelf next to open pan of ravioli in the freezer.

The interior of the ice bin had pink and black substance and container used to store ice scoop was coated with debris.

Containers stored as clean, but were still dirty

An employee test food temperature with a thermometer

that hadn’t been properly sanitized before or after.

Foods were held at unsafe temperatures — some too hot and some not hot enough

Most restaurants with failed scores are re-inspected within 10 days.
