The best Easter treats
Chocolate foil-covered eggs and fruity jelly beans are so 2017. How about tucking some fluffy local marshmallows into your Easter baskets this year? In Cumming, Laura and Paris Retana of Malvi Marshmallow Confections are busy whipping up (yes, it takes lots of whipping to make marshmallows) fun treats in flavors like berry tropical and cotton candy, and baking tiny squares of butter cookies to turn some of those marshmallows into treats like raspberry hibiscus or vanilla salted caramel Malvi s’mores. The s’mores come wrapped in packets of two, and the mallows come wrapped in stacks of five. All are perfect for Easter baskets and for post-Easter-brunch snacking.
Prices range from $10 for 10 marshmallows to $22 for a sampler of 12 s’mores. Available at malvimallow.com and at the Spotted Trotter and Whole Foods at Merchant Walk.
