What happened: Using cellphone technology, authorities tracked down the vehicle of Mark Anthony Conditt, the 23-year-old suspect, to a Round Rock hotel. Police began following Conditt’s vehicle, and as SWAT officers approached him on the Interstate 35 southbound service road in Round Rock, a “significant explosive device” detonated inside Conditt’s car, killing him. An officer who was knocked back by the blast was treated for minor injuries. Conditt was the only death in the incident.
