Georgia college make U.S. news grad school list

Several Georgia colleges and universiti­es made the cut Tuesday for a different kind of March Madness: a coveted slot on U.S. News & World Report’s annual list of America’s best graduate school programs.

Here’s where their programs ranked among the top 100 nationally in some categories:

Augusta University

84th: medical research Emory University

3rd: nursing

20th: MBA

22nd: full-time law school 23rd: medical research 33rd: biology

37th: medical primary care Georgia State

18th: public affairs 22nd: criminolog­y

40th: education

65th: full-time law school Georgia Tech

8th: engineerin­g

28th: MBA

43rd: public affairs

54th: biology

University of Georgia

6th: public affairs

24th: social work

32nd: full-time law school 37th: education

40th: MBA

46th: biology

The rankings were based on several factors, such as employment rates upon graduation, starting salaries, acceptance rates, out-of-state tuition and fees, staff surveys and assessment scores. U.S. News & World Report began these rankings in 1990.
