The city of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation, the Atlanta Hawks Foundation and the Old Fourth Ward community celebrated the unveiling of four newly renovated basketball courts at Central Park, according to a press release. The March 31 event was the fifth city of Atlanta basketball court renovation in partnership with the Atlanta Hawks Foundation. Basketball courts at Coan Park, Grant Park, William Walker Recreation Center and Bessie Branham Park have previously been renovated.

This is the 13th location that the Atlanta Hawks Foundation has sponsored for new or refurbished playing surfaces.

“The Atlanta Hawks Foundation remains committed to connecting with communities throughout our metropolitan area,” David Lee, Hawks EVP, External Affairs and Executive Director of the Atlanta Hawks Foundation said previously. “We have worked diligently with our community and corporate partners, and we’re delighted to announce multiple recipients of our basketball courts for the 2017-18 season.”

The program is expected to complete a court in Cobb County at Wildhorse Creek Park in June.
