A wanted man drove from Florida, fatally shot his ex-wife and her sister, then took his own life Thursday, Lumpkin County Sheriff Stacy Jarrard said.

The suspect was identified by the sheriff ’s office as Kelley McDonald Jr. of Tampa, Fla., Channel 2 Action News reported. He was wanted in Florida for domestic abuse, the sheriff confirmed.

Three children, ages 16, 13 and 2, were on the scene, the sheriff said, and two were injured.

The oldest, who was shot, and the youngest, who was injured in the scuffle, were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center and later transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston for treatment. The 16-yearold was still in surgery as of 6 p.m., Jarrard said.

The 2-year-old is believed to be the gunman’s child.

The 13-year-old, who left the scene to get help, is now with family members.

No other identities have been released, and authorities said the investigation is ongoing.

“We are actively trying to find out how (the man) got to that location,” the sheriff said.

About 8:30 a.m., law enforcement was dispatched to an active situation on Bryn Drive, off Ga. 9 South, Jarrard said.

“I ask that you be in prayer for the victims, family members involved and all the first responders,” he said.
