San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster has been charged with felony domestic violence after being accused of attacking his girlfriend, authorities said.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney said Foster was charged Thursday and was scheduled to be arraigned later in the day in San Jose.

Prosecutors said the 24-year-old Foster attacked his girlfriend in February at their Los Gatos home, leaving her bruised and with a ruptured ear drum.

The 28-year-old woman told responding officers that Foster dragged her by her hair, physically threw her out of the house, and punched her in the head eight to 10 times.

Foster was also charged with felony possession of an assault weapon and misdemeanor possession of a high-capacity magazine after officers found a Sig Sauer 516 short-barreled rifle in his home while investigating his girlfriend’s domestic violence report.

If convicted on all charges, He faces up to 11 years in prison.

The 49ers drafted Foster 31st overall last year after questions about his health and character caused him to drop from being a possible top 10 pick.

“We continue to monitor all developments in this matter which is under review of the personal conduct policy,” the NFL said in a statement.

The 49ers called the charges disturbing.

“We will continue to follow this serious matter,” the team said in a release. “Reuben is aware that his place in our organization is under great scrutiny and will depend on what is learned through the legal process.”

Browns: Three-time Pro Bowl slot receiver Jarvis Landry is close to finalizing a long-term contract worth more than $15 million per year, a person familiar with the deal confirmed.

ESPN first reported the news. Landry’s new deal will be for five years and worth $75.5 million with $47 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network.

On March 9, new Browns general manager John Dorsey traded a fourth-round draft pick (No. 123 overall) this year and a seventh-round selection next year to the Dolphins for Landry.

Seahawks: Had plans to bring in former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick for a workout as they search for a backup to Russell Wilson, but postponed the meeting when he said he did not know what his plan is for his offfield social activism going forward, including whether he would continue to kneel for the national anthem.

The Seattle Times reported that the club wanted a firmer plan from Kaepernick about all of his off-field activities — including but not solely limited to kneeling for the anthem — and how that might impact football.

ESPN reported the Seahawks made arrangements for the visit the day before Kapernick sat for his deposition regarding the NFL’s alleged attempts to conspire to keep him out of the league.

Bills: Placed Richie Incognito on their reserve/retired list in a move confirming the offensive guard’s intention to abruptly quit football after 11 seasons. The Bills announced the move Thursday, two days after Incognito indicated he was “done” in a series of interviews and messages posted on his Twitter account.

Incognito cited health concerns involving his liver and kidneys as the reasons to retire. He also expressed second thoughts over accepting a pay cut when restructuring the final year of his contract.

Bengals: Linebacker Vontaze Burfict will be sidelined to start a season for the fourth year in a row, this time serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancers. The NFL rejected Burfict’s appeal without comment and upheld the full suspension on Thursday. It’s the third time the volatile linebacker has been suspended by the league in the past three years.

Texans: Released right tackle Derek Newton, who tore the patellar tendon in both knees in a Week 7 game against the Broncos in 2016.
