WHAT’S NEW ON METRO ATLANTA DINING SCENE

-

Mission + Market open in Buckhead

Mission + Market, the new restaurant from longtime Atlanta chef Ian Winslade, opened in Buckhead on Monday. It’s located inside the new Three Alliance Center building near Phipps Plaza and serves lunch and dinner, with grab and go options. The menu features “contemporary American and West Coast cuisine.” Look for entrees such as wild mushroom polenta and steelhead trout, plus sandwiches, pizza and pasta. Watershed has a new chef-owner

Matt Marcus, the former executive chef at Portofino in Buckhead and the opening chef at Bluetop in Chamblee, is the new chef-owner of Watershed, the longtime Atlanta favorite from Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls and her business partners. After closing after Sunday service to make decor changes, Marcus plans to reopen Watershed on April 17 with a revamped lunch and dinner menu, plus a new chef ’s tasting menu coming soon. Look for new lunch hours, the end of Sunday brunch, and dinner as usual, 5-10 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays. 1820 Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta. 404-809-3561, watershedrestaurant.com.

Chef Zeb Stevenson’s new restaurant

Zeb Stevenson had been the executive chef at Watershed restaurant since January 2014. But his last day of service was Sunday, when Matt Marcus took over as chef-owner. Now comes word that Stevenson, who previously worked at Spice Market Atlanta, the Livingston at the Georgian Terrace Hotel and Parish, has a new job lined up with former Watershed partner Ross Jones. There’s no location, yet. And details about the concept are sparse. But Stevenson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution he envisions a place that’s “not stuffy, not fancy, not where you get hung up on what to wear.”
