Groundbreaking is set for Pinnacle Park project

-

Norcross leaders, business owners and other citizens are invited to attend an official groundbreaking as construction begins on the Pinnacle Park Development Project at 10 a.m. April 25 at 250 Pinnacle Way.

Norcross recently awarded a contract to Pond Constructors to design and construct Pinnacle Park off Brook Hollow Parkway adjacent to Pinnacle Center Business Park. The new park will be built around a small lake, which currently functions as a stormwater retention facility.

Plans include demolition of an existing two-story office building as well as the clearing of downed/ damaged trees and overgrown vegetation. Existing trails, dilapidated bridges, and deteriorated sidewalks will be reclaimed. Numer- ous recreational and green infrastructures will be added including a playground, fitness circuit course, octagonal grand pavilion and two picnic pavilions, barbecue/grilling facilities, bathrooms and storage, nature inspired landscaped areas, walking trails, additional parking spaces, lighting and signage.

The project is committed to sustainability practices, which includes adherence to the guidelines of the ARC’s Green Communities Program. One of the primary requirements is to use goats to do the initial clearing of overgrown vegetation. KAREN HUPPERTZ FOR THE AJC
