If north Fulton County residents want to pursue a degree in business, they now won’t have to go far to do so.

The city of Sandy Springs has teamed up with Kennesaw State University to offer master of business administration classes at the new City Springs complex.

City Springs is set to open in phases this summer and is a mixed-use development that will feature City Hall, retail, restaurants, offices, housing, and now, schooling.

The classes will be available this fall, at the start of the 2018-19 academic year. It will be the third location for a Michael J. Coles College MBA, but the first outside of Cobb County. The course is also offered at the Kennesaw State campus and at the Cobb Galleria.

“City Springs was designed to bring people together in new and different ways, and to host an MBA program of Kennesaw State’s stature within the Sandy Springs community is a great addition,” Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul said in a statement.

Kennesaw State’s MBA program is designed for “working metro Atlanta professionals with busy schedules,” a release said.

To achieve the degree, students must complete a total of 12 courses. Two courses will be offered per semester at City Springs, meaning people who want to pursue the degree at City Springs can earn it in six semesters. Classes will be once a week.

“The Sandy Springs market offers a perfect fit for our MBA degree program,” said Amy Henley, executive director for MBA programs at Kennesaw State. “With a number of Fortune 500 corporate headquarters located in the heart of the city, this new location allows us to serve these graduate students in a convenient manner. They will have access to our relevant curriculum taught by outstanding faculty right where they live and work.”

KSU will also offer a mini-MBA program in Sandy Springs starting April 26. Students who complete the nine-month course will earn an “executive certificate” in business strategy.
