Q: Did the animals at Yellow River Game Ranch in Lilburn get a home when it closed? Did the ones that were sick get medical care and recover? —Donna Wilson, Grayson

A: Some of the animals at Yellow River Game Ranch were transferred to other licensed facilities, Mark McKinnon, a spokesman for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Law Enforcement Division, told Q&A on the News via email.

“At this time, Yellow River Game Ranch is still a permitted facility and some animals remain there along with personnel to care for them,” he wrote.

There were and are no known sick DNR-regulated animals on the premises. DNR regulates native wildlife and exotic animals, not domestic animals.

The ranch, which had been open for more than 35 years and had more than 600 animals, closed to the public in December, the AJC previously reported.

Q: What is the current employment status of Terry Pendleton and Eddie Perez?

—Larry Aft, Cumming

A: Pendleton and Perez, former Braves coaches, are both special assistants in the organization, working primarily on the minor league side.
