Oops: Vick’s attempt to troll Cowboys is epic fail

Note to Michael Vick: If you are going to troll, you best get your facts correct.

The former Falcons quarterback introduced the team’s second-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft Friday night. The event, held in AT&T Stadium, became a podium for some to poke fun at the host Cowboys.

Former Eagles kicker David Akers took the trolling to new heights when he informed the crowd that the last time the Cowboys won a Super Bowl, the players being drafted had yet to be born. Ouch. The Cowboys’ last Super Bowl win came in 1996 season, 22 years ago.

Vick followed nine picks later. Before he announced that the Falcons selected Colorado cornerback Isaiah Oliver, he stated: “For the record, I never lost to Dallas.” Oops.

There is a problem. A big one, as a matter of fact.

With Vick at quarterback, the Falcons lost to the Cowboys 38-28 on Dec. 16, 2006, at the Georgia Dome. Vick went 16 of 24 for 237 yards with four touchdowns and one interception and was sacked four times. The Tony Romoled Cowboys won after scoring the final 17 points of the game. One of Vick’s interceptions was returned 41 yards for a touchdown by Demarcus Ware.

Vick was 1-1 against the Cowboys in his career. The Falcons won 20-13 on Nov. 11, 2001, at Texas Stadium. Vick missed a 27-13 win against the Cowboys on Sept. 7, 2003, at Texas Stadium with Doug Johnson at quarterback for the Falcons.
