Forsyth steak, sushi eatery fails inspection

A Forsyth restaurant that specializes in steak and sushi failed

its most recent health inspection. Ichiban Steak & Sushi in Cumming scored a 63/U on May 23. Previous scores were 73/C on April 9, 2018 and 75/C on Oct. 4, 2017.

Among the violations cited in the report:

Employee drinks, food and cigarettes were on or above food and utensil handling zones.

Fish portioned in walk-in freezer was not labeled properly. The label on the box was from 2015.

Raw beef was stored over ready-to-eat food items in the sushi cooler.

Foods being held in a sliding door cooler were at temperatures of 46-48 degrees. Cold-stored products are to be held at 41 degrees or below.

Most restaurants with failed scores are reinspected within 10 days.
