2018 guide to free outdoor movies

- By Nedra Rhone nrhone@ajc.com

Summer means it is time for free movies in the park. With so many different events in the metro area, you can choose everything from classic films to the latest blockbuster releases.

Listed here are just some of the free outdoor movie events happening in the area that have released their dates and lineups. Some cities may be offering events but are not listed as details are still to be determined.

The screenings generally begin at dusk (between 8-9 p.m.), though some festivities may get started as early as 5 p.m. with some premovie activities such as musical performances, family fun and food trucks.

Some locations allow you to bring a picnic, but check each event before you attend for restrictions on food, alcohol, containers and weather cancellations. All dates are subject to change.
