Twinbill offers World Cup flavor

Do you like your baseball with a little soccer? Then park your caboose in a seat at Coolray Field on June 22 for a World Cup-themed Gwinnett Stripers doublehead­er.

The Stripers will play two backto-back games against the Columbus Clippers that night, making up for a previously canceled match. For both games, the Stripers will be wearing Atlanta United-themed jerseys, said Dave Lezotte, a team spokesman.

Before the secondgame begins, therewill be a parade of nations, including local internatio­nal communitie­s. On-field promotions during the second game will all be soccer themed, Lezotte said. Fireworks will be set off at the end of the second game.

The fifirst game begins at 5:05 p.m. andis scheduled to last seven innings. There will be a 30-minute break between the fifirst and second game. Start time for the second game is dependent on when the fifirst game ends.

You only need to buy one ticket to watch both games. Tickets start at $9 and are available online.
