City to hold community dialogue sessions

The city of Chamblee wants residents to join the “Community Dialogue” about their neighborhoods at two interactive listening sessions, according to a news release. The focus of these meetings is on neighborhoods, development and sustainability.

The meeting Wednesday will be held at the North DeKalb Senior Center, 3393 Malone Drive.

The meeting Thursday will be held at St. Pius X Catholic High School Cafeteria, 2674 Johnson Rd NE.

Both meetings begin at 6 p.m., are scheduled to last three hours and are open to all Chamblee residents.

Urban redevelopment area-related sessions during Wednesday’s dialogue will focus on development opportunities for the Savoy Drive and Chamblee Tucker Road/Buford Highway intersection areas, while Thursday’s dialogue will focus on the Shallowford Road/Interstate 85 intersection and Dresden Park areas.

Participants will be divided into groups as this is a hands-on, interactive activity, where there’s an opportunity to provide feedback on existing city policies and future initiatives. Discussion topics include trees, smart growth, redevelopment, code enforcement, crime prevention through environmental design, neighborhood planning and more.
