North Fulton buffet fails

A North Fulton buffet restaurant failed its most recent routine inspection. Tokyo Bay Japanese Buffet in Roswell scored 63/U on June 15. Previous scores were 71/C on May 21, 2018 and 88/B on March 22, 2017. Several violations included:

■ No soap or any other hand cleanser was provided at the sushi bar hand washing sink.

■ Dented cans (one was the pineapple can and one was the mandarin can) in the dry storage area.

■ Failure to properly reheat cooked food items (cooked eel was reheated for hot-holding to 99 degrees from the oven at the sushi bar).

■Failure to properly date mark food items prepared and stored for more than 24 hours in the reach-in coolers at the sushi bar and in the prep top cooler at the main kitchen.

■ No thermometers provided in any of the reach-in coolers at the sushi bar.

■ Gaskets/seals on reach-in cooler door next to the grill in poor repair (doors could not be properly closed).

Most restaurants with failed scores are re-inspected within 10 days.
