Police arrest 33-year-old man in triple shooting by bus depot

A suspect is in custody after a triple shooting at a convenience store across from a downtown Greyhound bus station.

Tremayne Mosley, 33, was arrested early Tuesday after authorities said he led Atlanta police officers on a short chase that ended outside the state Capitol.

According to witnesses inside the Quick Pick on Forsyth Street, a man entered the store just before 3:30 a.m. with his gun out and started shooting. He was looking for the person who smashed the windshield of his gray Dodge Charger, they told Channel 2 Action News.

A 36-year-old woman was shot in the hip, a 31-year-old man was shot in the leg and a 33-year-old man was shot in the hand.

A security guard at the bus station heard the gunfire and saw the shooter exit the store, the news station reported.

“I heard six shots,” the guard, who asked not to be

identified, told Channel 2. “I looked up. Saw the guy coming out of the store. He placed the weapon in his pocket. Tried to walk to his vehicle.”

Atlanta police were responding to a dispute call at the bus station when they also heard the gunshots and headed over to investigate,

police spokeswoman Officer Lisa Bender said.

“While approaching the location the suspect ... exited the store and ran toward his gray Dodge Charger and sped away, refusing the officer’s commands to stop,” Bender said in a statement.

The chase ended a short

time later on the corner of Capitol Avenue and Memorial Drive, where Mosely got out of the car and tried to run, Bender said. Pursuing officers quickly caught up with him.

The three shooting victims were taken to an area hospital and are expected to recover.
